Rethinking plural policing and network governance: internal and external mechanisms in the governance of security
Abstract
The governance of security has been studied in both criminology and public administration research, but mainly within their separate disciplines. This integrative literature review argues that governance of security research would benefit from integrating insights from both disciplines, specifically the literatures on plural policing and network governance. This results in a reconceptualization of the governance of security that distinguishes between internal and external governance mechanisms. This distinction allows for a more precise positioning of researchers in the study of governance processes and enables more specific operationalization of the governance of security to support further empirical research.

摘要
安全治理在犯罪学与公共行政研究中均得到探讨，但主要局限于各自学科内部。这篇综合性文献综述认为，安全治理研究将从整合这两个学科的洞见中受益，尤其是多元警务与网络治理的文献。由此产生一种对安全治理的重新概念化，区分内部治理机制与外部治理机制。这一区分使研究者能够在治理过程研究中更精确地定位自身，并使安全治理得以更具体地操作化，以支持进一步的实证研究。
